Theresa D. Gergen, MS, OT/L
I began teaching in the occupational therapy assistant program at Roane State Community College in 2008 following a 20-year career in clinical practice. In my current role of program director, I oversee all aspects of our nationally accredited program and function as a full-time assistant professor.
In August of 2009 I enrolled in the Fischler School of Education at Nova Southeastern University to pursue a doctorate in education. I chose a concentration in instructional technology and distance education (ITDE) to attain the knowledge and skills to design effective instruction and to one day deliver that instruction to geographically-distant students.
This December, I will have completed all of the requirements for my doctoral degree. I am grateful to have had the support of my husband, family, friends, fellow students, and colleagues on this journey.
